Fun fact: In darkness, we humans perceive movement best through our peripheral vision. That's how our caveman ancestors escaped being nommed by sabertooth lolcats. (IM IN UR CAVE, NOMMING UR YOUNG!) So, while night vision goggles are awesome, they cover your eyes, obstruct your peripheral vision, and they're... well, they're goggles. Unless you're going for the steampunk look, goggles can really ruin your fashion statement.
